Real Madrid deserve La Liga title

Real Madrid clinched the Spanish league title last night with a 3-0 home victory over Athletic Bilbao.

Los Blancos have been outstanding all season and have now confirmed themselves as the new champions of Spain.

Real boss Jose Mourinho admitted that it was the toughest of his titles so far.

He told RealMadrid TV: “ I won the league title in Portugal, Italy and England, but this one has been the toughest. I’ve won seven league titles overall and I know what it feels like.

Barcelona won all their games, as befits the great team that they are. They ve been winning to the very last day. They are a club with great tradition that knows we deserved to win this title.

Ramos named in Paris Saint-Germain´s squad for Man City clash

Sergio Ramos has taken a significant step towards making his Paris Saint-Germain debut after he was named in the squad to face Manchester City on Wednesday.

Ramos is yet to feature for PSG, having struggled with a calf issue since his arrival from Real Madrid on a free transfer in the close season.

The Spain international only made 15 LaLiga appearances in his final season at Madrid, and last played in May when Los Blancos went down to Chelsea in the Champions League.

Mauricio Pochettino confirmed last week that Ramos was nearing a return to action, but the 35-year-old – along with fellow centre-back Marquinhos – was not included in the squad to face Nantes at the weekend.

However, both have been included for Wednesday s Champions League trip to the…

Aston Villa 2 Leicester City 1: Unlikely heroes win it for hosts

Alan Hutton scored his first Aston Villa goal as they came from behind to beat beleaguered Leicester City 2-1 in the Premier League.

Paul Lambert s men fell behind to Leonardo Ulloa s opener at Villa Park on Sunday, but Ciaran Clark s first Premier League goal since September 2012 quickly levelled proceedings.

The turnaround was completed by another unlikely scorer in the form of Hutton, who had not scored since playing for Tottenham in November 2010, before the visitors had Paul Konchesky sent off with 10 minutes remaining.

Leicester struck the first blow when Ulloa capitalised on a rare error from Villa goalkeeper Brad Guzan for his first goal since September.

Clark took advantage of some slack Leicester defending to level the match before the break, th…

Haaland passed fit to make Dortmund return at Wolfsburg

Erling Haaland has been passed fit to make his Borussia Dortmund return in the Bundesliga encounter at Wolfsburg on Saturday.

The prolific striker has been out of action since a 4-0 Champions League thrashing at Ajax last month due to a hip flexor injury.

Dortmund on Friday confirmed Haaland is in the squad for the trip to Wolfsburg, but will be on the bench and the club revealed he would be ready for a brief shift.

England midfielder Jude Bellingham misses out after taking a knock to the knee.

Dortmund boss Marco Rose said: Mo Dahoud feels good and is ready, the same applies to Emre Can. Youssoufa Moukoko is doing better, and he trained.

Marius Wolf is here and Erling Haaland will be on the bus. Jude Bellingham is out, and with Rapha Guerreir…

Everton confirm Bolasie capture

Everton have confirmed the signing of winger Yannick Bolasie from Crystal Palace on a five-year deal.

Bolasie joined Palace in 2012 and played a key role in their promotion to the Premier League for the 2013-14 season.

Amid reports linking him with a move to Goodison Park, the 27-year-old was a second-half substitute in the 1-0 defeat to West Brom at Selhurst Park on Saturday.

An ineffectual performance prompted Alan Pardew to claim his heart and soul may no longer be with the club, and the winger s switch was confirmed on Monday for a fee believed to be in the region of £30million.

Bolasie is in line to make his debut at the weekend coincidentally also against West Brom.

Bolasie called the decision to move to Merseyside a no-brainer , praising E…

Porto await offers for Hulk

Porto president Pinto da Costa has revealed he is yet to receive any offers for in demand star forward Hulk.

The Brazil international s future at the Estadio do Dragao has been a source of conjecture in recent weeks, with the 25-year-old non-committal over where he will ply his trade next season.

Chelsea are understood to be tracking the powerful forward, but the Porto supremo has underlined that he has yet to hear from the Champions League holders.

According to the newspapers, Hulk would be long gone now, but what I can guarantee today is that Porto have not yet received any offers for him, Da Costa told Antena 1.

Hulk, who arrived at Porto in 2008, has a buy-out clause of 100 million euros attached to his contract with the Portuguese champions, with h…

Ange Postecoglou aims dig at Bayern Munich over Harry Kane pursuit

Tottenham boss Ange Postecoglou insists only one transfer deadline counts as he aimed a thinly-veiled dig at Bayern Munich’s public pursuit of Harry Kane after the forward scored four goals against Shakhtar Donetsk.

Kane put the uncertainty over his future to one side to produce a classic display of predatory finishing in what could prove to be his final appearance in Spurs’ colours.

Bayern are reported to have lodged their latest offer for Kane on Friday and an apparent self-imposed deadline of midnight was set by the German club, but there has been no further news on the outcome of that bid and Kane grabbed a hat-trick in 55 minutes of a 5-1 friendly win over Shakhtar.

Kane added another goal in the 79th-minute before he left the pitch a minute later to a s…

AC Milan rule out Silva sale

AC Milan have announced that Thiago Silva will not be sold in the summer.

The Rossoneri had been locked in talks with Paris Saint-Germain over the Brazilian stopper, with owner Silvio Berlusconi admitting that the club could be unable to resist the offer from the cash-rich French side.

PSG sporting director Leonardo had expressed doubts about the success of a move for Silva.

There is no agreement, he told Sky Italia.

Many details have not been defined but this is normal considering the type of deal we are talking about.

We will wait and see but I don t think the negotiations will take very long.

On Thursday, Milan guaranteed that the player would be staying at the club.

A statement on the club s official website read: The pre…

Hitzfeld intrigued by Sammer-Zorc contest

Ottmar Hitzfeld is relishing the rivalry between Borussia Dortmund sporting director Michael Zorc and Bayern Munich s Matthias Sammer.

Hitzfeld coached both sides and former players Zorc and Sammer in a stellar managerial career, taking over the reins at Dortmund between 1991 and 1997 and subsequently at Bayern from 1998 to 2004 and again from 2007 to 2008.

Zorc and Sammer were team-mates in the early 1990s, with Sammer coaching Dortmund to the Bundesliga title in 2002.

I brought Mathias Sammer to Borussia Dortmund from Inter (Milan), he wasn t particularly happy in Italy, Switzerland coach Hitzfeld told Bundesliga.de

So then, we were working together, and he was always was one of the leaders of the team, he wasn t the captain, Michael Zorc was. But he…

Defending Premier League champions Chelsea 8/13 to see past struggling Newcastle

Competition: Premier League
Market: Chelsea to win against Newcastle
Odds:

Out-of-form Newcastle United welcome Premier League champions Chelsea to St James’ Park on Saturday afternoon, and boast a very impressive head-to-head record in their own backyard to the Blues. However, with how poor Steve McClaren’s side have been this season, Chelsea could well be ending their poor run of form in the North-East to continue their own momentum of late.

Newcastle United are 19th in the Premier League table after six games this season, and are one of three sides without a win in the division. The Magpies are coming off the back of three consecutive defeats, and are the lowest scorers early on.

United have picked up only two points from a possible 18, and …
