AC Milan rule out Silva sale

AC Milan have announced that Thiago Silva will not be sold in the summer.

The Rossoneri had been locked in talks with Paris Saint-Germain over the Brazilian stopper, with owner Silvio Berlusconi admitting that the club could be unable to resist the offer from the cash-rich French side.

PSG sporting director Leonardo had expressed doubts about the success of a move for Silva.

There is no agreement, he told Sky Italia.

Many details have not been defined but this is normal considering the type of deal we are talking about.

We will wait and see but I don t think the negotiations will take very long.

On Thursday, Milan guaranteed that the player would be staying at the club.

A statement on the club s official website read: The president Silvio Berlusconi has decided: Thiago Silva will stay at Milan.

Meanwhile, PSG have also issued a statement on their website saying that they have pulled out of negotiations for the 27-year-old.

Earlier on Thursday, Silva s agent stated that his client should be offered an improved contract if he is to stay at Milan, whom he joined from Fluminense in 2009 in a 10-million-euro deal.

If Milan has no interest in selling Thiago Silva to PSG, I have the certainty that the Rossonero club will recognise his value, agent Paolo Tonietto told www.tuttomercatoweb.com.

Hence, they will make a very big sacrifice to give Thiago a new contract, just as the one that the most valued player of Milan currently gets.
